GK Software USA, Inc., seeks Director of Quality Assurance (Raleigh, NC)

your responsibilities
  • Define and promote quality mindset across entire company by managing all QA functions, working with cross-departmental leadership to deliver high-quality products and project on schedule
  • Oversee team leads / managers and assist with coordination of testing activities, resource planning and process improvements of QA department
  • Provide input to the Test Automation Team
  • Apply knowledge of GK products as well as all customer variations, work with other department leaders and project managers to provide input to prioritization of automation efforts
  • Establish a training plan for new QA hires across the GK product suite, including retail, point-of-sale, payments, and reporting products
  • Work with other department leaders, project managers, and QA team leads/managers to establish priorities for testing efforts of both base product and customer projects
  • Periodically review department scheduling with QA team leads / managers
  • Periodically review department performance with QA team leads/managers
  • Define career path/progression for the QA department
  • Review QA candidates recommended by QA team
  • Work with other department heads and CTO to establish processes and procedures for QA within cloud deployment scenarios
  • Provide input for strategic direction of QA department
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in QA
  • Provide product roadmap insight and advice based on QA team experience
  • Work with QA team leads/managers to create standards and evaluation criteria for test plans
  • Training and mentoring team members about technical and functional aspects of our product suite
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of our retail product suite and different types of architectures to provide input to executive team on QA activities.
requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Business Management or Economics plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related QA Tester position. Must have 3 years of experience implementing retail software projects for Point of Sale and Merchandise Management systems. Must have 1 year of experience creating and preparing test scripts and test cases on Windows and Linux. Must have experience leading QA teams. Must have experience with: Master data produced by SAP and mapping them to different formats; Point of Sale hardware and peripheral devices; Jira or similar issue tracking.

In the alternate, will accept a 3-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Management or Economics plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related QA Tester position. Must have 3 years of experience implementing retail software projects for Point of Sale and Merchandise Management systems. Must have 1 year of experience creating and preparing test scripts and test cases on Windows and Linux. Must have experience leading QA teams. Must have experience with: Master data produced by SAP and mapping them to different formats; Point of Sale hardware and peripheral devices; Jira or similar issue tracking.

International and National Travel required up to 10% of the time.
