Join our team and bring clarity to the world of retail technology.As a Head of Accounting (all genders) at GK – a global leader in retail innovation and part of the Fujitsu Group – you take ownership of our accounting function, stabilize existing structures, and build scalable, future-proof financial processes across the organization.

Location: Berlin / Schöneck (Hybrid, 2–3 days on-site)

What You’ll Do

• Accounting Leadership & Structure
  Lead and develop the accounting team (~10 FTEs) while ensuring clear responsibilities and efficient collaboration.
  Stabilize the current accounting setup and establish sustainable, scalable structures.
  Act as the central point of contact for all accounting-related topics across the organization and subsidiaries.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance
  Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
  Own and manage group accounting processes, including consolidation across entities.
  Review financial reports, identify inconsistencies, and ensure full compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Process Optimization & Transformation
  Analyze existing accounting processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement structured improvements.
  Drive the standardization and automation of accounting workflows and reporting structures.
  Support and contribute to ERP-related initiatives and system improvements.
• Stakeholder Management
  Collaborate closely with Controlling, and other internal Departments and external stakeholders (e.g. auditors).
  Provide clear financial insights and ensure transparency for management decision-making.
  Act as a sparring partner for senior leadership on accounting-related matters.

What You Bring

• Strong experience in group accounting and financial consolidation.
• Proven expertise in preparing financial statements under IFRS and/or HGB.
• Solid leadership experience, managing teams of ~10 people.
• High system and tech affinity (ERP systems, ideally Workday or comparable).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify errors and structure processes effectively.
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to stabilize and improve existing setups.
• Experience working in complex organizational structures with multiple entities
• Nice to have:
• Experience with IFR.
• Background in transformation projects or ERP implementations.
• Experience in Big4 or audit-related environments.
